The Lucky Cowboy - biography

Who is that crazy cowboy?

Lucky was born at a very young age in the "Land of Lincoln."  Alton, Illinois, to be exact, is where old Lucky is from. Alton is famous for its celebrities of stage and screen. Remember Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world? How about TV star Clint Walker of "Cheyenne" and Butch Calvey the singer? Alton is also where one of the famous Lincoln/Douglas debates took place, and where Bluff City Beer was made. It seems Lucky was just destined to be a famous person.

In his early years, Lucky appeared at the Madison Avenue Corral in Alton as a live DJ for WOKZ radio. He's been a trapeze artist, a motorcycle stunt rider, and even hosted his own carnival. He was a National Indian Chief for the Boy Scouts of America and managed a scout camp. Lucky spent some time in Minnesota where he still has many country fans.

Nowadays, old Lucky is based in Nashville, TN, Music City USA. Here he founded Lucky Cowboy Productions. You might catch him anywhere in Nashville, or somewhere in the rest of the USA promoting country music. He's even been on the Today Show! But you'll always find him wearing his famous forty gallon orange cowboy hat - you can't miss him wherever he goes.

Lucky's favorite song is "I Feel Lucky." His handprints are on the WE Fest "Walk of Fame," and there's even a ceramic bobblehead doll of Lucky. Yep, you can bet old Lucky will continue to be a star in his own right.

Watch out for Lucky as you might just get "Lucky!" Yeeeeeeeeehaw!!! Let's Party Like A Cowboy! LUCKY COWBOY Since 1992

Taylor Swift kicks off 2010 tour in Brisbane
Australia Adventures

The Grammy winner Taylor Swift took the stage in Sydney, AU last night as the first in a queue of music superstars lining up to play in the Australia arenas. She performed to a sell-out crowd at Acer Arena in Sydney, AU February 6, 2010.

SYDNEY AUSTRALIA REPORT:
February 07, 2010

Taylor Swift played to a packed crowd at Acer Arena - the first of two Sydney, AU shows. A year ago, the pop country singer was introduced to the Australian market with a show at Enmore's Factory Theatre, with just a few hundred fans in the room.

Last night in front of almost 15,000 fans, Swift performed 16 songs, including hits You Belong With Me, Tim McGraw and Love Story.

Her two albums - Taylor Swift and Fearless - have sold millions of copies and last month she was named the top-selling digital artist in history, with sales of more than 24 million tracks.

Taylor Orders In:

Taylor Swift has her luncheon meat, Starbucks grandes, and "Ben/Jerry's" pints delivered to her bus. Additionally, Saturday appears to be pasta night for the singer, who surely could do better that a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce. And "one Bag frozen Edemame (sic) (it's soy beans...in frozen vegetable section)."

Taylor shows up with Hamish & Andy an Australian comedy duo, consisting of Hamish Blake and Andy Lee with a radio show in Australia.

Tween Fans Lap Up Taylor Swift Show In Brisbane, AU
Brisbane Entertainment Centre
February 05, 2010

Taylor Swift performed in Brisbane, AU on February 4, 2010

TAYLOR Swift's first reception as a bona fide superstar in Australia must have been music to her ears: a sea of young girls in cowboy hats and boots screaming in pre-pubescent frenzy.

The country pop sensation, it turns out, is the tween role model of 2010, a stunning young woman singing simple catchy songs of romantic yearning and angst.

Photo: Taylor Swift arrives at Brisbane, Australia airport on Feb. 01, 2010

Now an arena headliner, Swift offers a vastly entertaining spectacle for her core fan base. The music comes complete with amusing video parodies of her ability to turn a jerk ex-boyfriend into the victim of her songs.

The fans lapped it up.

This point Swift makes explicit - the sweetest antidote for an awkward schoolgirl ugly duckling is a sold-out concert show.

Opener You Belong With Me began with a dance troupe almost as big as the band, which like Swift started in canary yellow marching band uniform. Swift soon shed this for a sparkling frock, the first of many costume changes. She need not say a word to drive her audience wild, a change in facial expression did that.

Swift doesn't have the strongest voice in Nashville but she has the stage commitment of an actress. Only during They Shouldn't Do Bad Things, when her vocals got lost in the mix, was her voice exposed.

Despite the country tag, and occasional solos from fiddle and banjo (to which Swift does a seductive dance, the oddest spectacle) her seven-piece band runs primarily on pop-rock fuel. Did anyone care that her acoustic guitar was buried in the mix? Almost certainly not.

Taylor travels on to Sydney, AU for two concerts on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7 then it's Newcastle, AU on Feb. 8. Two shows on Feb. 10-11 in Melbourne, AU, Adelaide, AU on Feb. 12, then it's off to Tokyo, Japan on Feb. 17.

Taylor performing at a sold out (15,000) concert in Brisbane, AUS on Feb. 04, 2010

TAYLOR Swift may have been humiliated by Kanye West, but she's got better friends in Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, she reveals ahead of her Aussie tour.

You toured with Keith Urban and you both live in Nashville. Tell us about your friendship with Nicole Kidman and Keith?

Keith and Nicole have been wonderful to me. When I was touring with Keith, he would knock on my bus door, come and say hi and see how I was doing, or think of a song for us to play together that night. Both of them have this natural friendliness and a natural kindness that I really love, and Nicole is one of the most beautiful people, inside and out.

Also, Keith Urban is not just an influence on me at a personal level, he has a professional influence on me as well -- he's been a good example to me of how I feel an artist should be.

And it's his music that I play in my car. They are shining lights in my life.

How do you find time to have relationships?

Oh, there's always time! I'll make time for someone if I'm intrigued by them or I want to get to know them. I'm a hopeless romantic. I love the thought that love can happen in an instant and maintain itself and be a success story instead of a failure. I will find time for love if love is worth finding time for.

We were all intrigued by your friendship with Taylor Lautner. What did you learn from that experience?

One thing I've learned is your life is your life, it's not what people write about your life and it's not what everyone's perception of what your life is. I never want to turn into that person who says to whoever I may be seeing or thinking about going on a date with: "Let's not go to dinner in public tonight because that might
get written about." I don't want to let the fact that people are watching me change the course of my actions in relationships.

It's also about being grateful for everything; I'm never gonna have that moment when I lash out and scream and yell about the fact that people are watching me, because I asked for this life and this career.

Sources Say Taylor Swift and John Mayer Are 'Definitely' Something
John Mayer is known for dating beautiful women -- and clearly doesn't
discriminate on their ages. The 32-year-old rocker, who was previously involved with 40-year-old Jennifer Aniston, is now rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, 20.

"Taylor and John are absolutely more than 'just friends,'" a source tells Hollywoodlife.com. "They aren't 'boyfriend and girlfriend' or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level," the source adds.

Rumors about the pair have been floating around for a few weeks. And the Grammy-winning Swift doesn't mind. Does Swift mind all the speculation?

"I try not to be a complainer, you know?" she told UsMagazine.com at the 13th annual Unforgettable Evening benefit Wednesday in L.A.

Weed With Willie Again?

Willie Nelson's Tour Bus Cited for Moonshine and Marijuana
In Wilmington, North Carolina

Willie Nelson was not on the tour bus where ALE agents found marijuana and “non-tax-paid alcohol, which is moonshine,” said Ted Carlton, special agent in charge of the District III ALE office out of Wilmington, NC, the StarNewsOnline.com is reporting.

The aroma of marijuana lingered in the parking lot, and moonshine measured three-quarters full in a quart jar on the tour bus, officials said.

Inspite of citations issued Thursday night to six of singer/songwriter Willie Nelson's band members for allegedly illegally possessing the substances, the concert was scheduled to go on. That was, until it was announced Nelson wasn't feeling up to playing, according to information from the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement Division agency out of Wilmington and a news release on Nelson's official Web site.

It was pain in Nelson's hand, the one on which he had carpal tunnel surgery, that caused the concert to be canceled, according to the news release on Nelson's Web site. “Doctors say to just give it a rest,” the release said.

Nelson was not on the tour bus where ALE agents found marijuana and “non-tax-paid alcohol, which is moonshine,” said Ted Carlton, special agent in charge of the District III ALE office out of Wilmington.

Carlton stated it was about 6:40 pm Thursday when ALE agents smelled marijuana in a parking lot by the Duplin County Events Center in Kenansville. After entering the tour bus, agents also saw a jar of moonshine, he said.

Six members of Nelson's band were issued citations. They were not arrested. A mandatory court appearance is required for both charges, Carlton said.

Kelly Clarkson Rips Taylor Swift's Label Boss
For Dizzing 'American Idol'

"American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson posts message in her blog about Swift's boss.
The defensive statement made by Big Machine Records' Scott Borchetta over Taylor Swift's much-maligned performance at 2010 Grammy Awards has drawn a strong reaction from Kelly Clarkson. On Thursday, February 4, the first "American Idol" winner posted a message on her blog in response to the label boss comment that attacked the singing competition.

"I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit 'the high notes'," the 27-year-old opened her letter. "Thank you for that 'Captain Obvious' sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the 'right' notes as well."

"Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better," the two-time Grammy-winning singer went on saying. "I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is 'I'll kick butt next time' or 'every performance isn't going to be perfect'."

"I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your 'humble' opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won't go according to plan or work out and that's okay," Clarkson at the end wrote. She signed the letter with "One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes".

Borchetta earlier came in Swift's defense in a phone interview with the Associated Press. "She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to (her fans), and they speak directly back to her," he stated. "This is not 'American Idol.' This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It's not about that technically perfect performance."

Taylor Swift herself has come under fire following her "off-key" medley of Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon" with Stevie Nicks at the Grammys on Sunday night, January 31. Criticizing the performance, The Washington Post quipped, "To borrow a phrase from Montgomery Burns, it was more 'off-key caterwauling.' " The New York Times also pounded Swift for being "painfully out of tune".

Taylor Swift's Label chief defends Swift's Grammy performance
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —

The head of Taylor Swift's record label is fired up and defending his superstar against critical comments about her Grammy-night performance.

"She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to (her fans), and they speak directly back to her," said Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta in a phone interview. "This is not `American Idol.' This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It's not about that technically perfect performance."

Borchetta first responded to the backlash in an interview with The Tennessean. Asked by The Associated Press why he felt the need to defend Swift, he said because the criticism was "just over the top."

"It's that classic thing that critics do of building something up and then wanting to tear it down," he said.

Swift rehearsed her performance and duet with Stevie Nicks two different times at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of an audience. Entertainment Weekly wrote of the rehearsal, "The two women's voices complemented each other nicely on the harmonies of `Rhiannon.'"

But on Sunday night's Grammy show, Borchetta said Swift had a technical issue that made her worry about her performance. (Attempts to reach The Recording Academy for comment went unanswered.)

"We had a volume problem in the ear. So, she was concerned that she wasn't able to hear everything in the mix," Borchetta said. "That's just part of live TV. ... So you're going to have difficulties on occasion. Unfortunately, on one of the biggest stages, we did have a technical issue. She couldn't hear herself like she had in rehearsal."

As quickly as you could say "Fearless," bloggers and media outlets pounced on Swift's performance. The Washington Post quipped: "To borrow a phrase from Montgomery Burns, it was more 'off-key caterwauling.'" EW.com said: "There's no doubt that someone was badly off-key. ... I'm afraid my money's on Taylor."

And with that, Borchetta has a message to all of her critics.

"If you haven't seen her live performance, you're welcome to come out as my guest to a Taylor Swift show and experience the whole thing, because it's amazing," he said. "There's a reason tickets are selling like they are."

Swift's "Fearless" album has sold over 5 million copies and was last year's top-selling album.

TAYLOR WINS BIG AT GRAMMYS!

Taylor Swift Leads Music City Triumph At Grammys
Wins four Grammys

Swift: “I feel like I’m standing here accepting an impossible dream here.”

Taylor was expected to leave LA three hours after her biggest win on a plane for huge shows in Australia and Japan. She performs in Brisbane, AUS on February 4.

LOS ANGELES — Music’s biggest night was Taylor Swift’s impossible dream come true, as the 20-year-old singer-songwriter won four trophies, including the all-genre album of the year prize, at Sunday’s 52nd annual Grammy Awards.

“I just hope that you know how much this means to me and to Nathan (Chapman) my producer, and to all these musicians you see on this stage, that we get to take this back to Nashville,” Swift said. “This is for my dad: Thank you for all those times you said I could do whatever I wanted in life.

“All of us, when we’re 80 years old and we’re telling the same stories again and again to our grandkids… this is the story we’ll be telling,” she said, as her self-penned (with Nashville song-scribe Liz Rose) “You Belong With Me” began playing as outro music and TV credits rolled.

Beyonce Knowles grabbed a night-topping six Grammys, including best song and best female pop vocal performance. Hers is the biggest one-night haul for any female artist in Grammy history.

But in the end, the top prize went to Swift, whose win made her the third Nashville-based best album Grammy winner in the past eight years.

The Fearless win was far from the evening’s only major Guitar Town triumph: Kings of Leon won three Grammys and became the first Music City rock band to win an all-genre best record prize. Overall, Middle Tennesseans triumphed in 18 separate categories at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Photo: Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010

The Staples Center audience rose to applaud brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and cousin Matthew Followill as the Kings’ “Use Somebody” — a song that topped four separate Billboard charts and spurred numerous cover versions in 2009 — won the top record award. Produced by Jacquire King and Angelo Petraglia at Blackbird Studios in Berry Hill, “Use Somebody” is the second straight record of the year Grammy winner from Nashville: Last year’s Alison Krauss and Robert Plant duet “Please Read The Letter” was the first-ever top record winner to come from Nashville.

Nashvillians Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon and Bela Fleck won two Grammy awards apiece during the pre-telecast leading up to tonight's 52nd Grammy Awards show.

While many of the night's top category nominees were absent from the pre-telecast, Swift was there in person to pick up her first Grammys: One for best country vocal performance ("White Horse") and the other with co-writer Liz Rose for writing the best country song (also "White Horse").

"She started writing songs with me when she had absolutely no reason to do so," Swift said of Rose. "I didn't have anything to offer her."

Middle Tennessee artists and producers won 15 Grammy categories in the early going. Winners included Bill Miller, Keith Urban, Ken Levitan, Steve Earle (a part-time Tennessean, but we'll count him, especially since he won for Townes, a tribute to songwriting mentor and Nashvillian Townes Van Zandt), Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Steve Wariner and Jason Crabb.

Miller's Spirit Wind North won the Native American album category. Miller was featured in The Tennessean's advance Grammy coverage this week. Click here to read that story.

Fleck's adventurous Throw Down Your Heart: Tales From The Acoustic Planet, Vol. 3 — Africa Sessions was named best contemporary world music album. Fleck also took best pop instrumental performance for the album track "Throw Down Your Heart."

Urban picked up best male country vocal performance for "Sweet Thing," and Lady Antebellum won best country performance by a duo or group for "I Run to You."

Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" has already won for best rock song and best rock performance by a duo or group with vocals. The song is also in contention for some of the night's top awards, including record of the year and song of the year.

TAYLOR SWIFT GETS MIXED REVIEWS
For her Grammy Performance

Response to her duet with Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks during the telecast has been overwhelmingly harsh.

The genre-blending duet — on Nicks' "Rhiannon" with Swift's "You Belong With Me" — drew sharp reviews from critics, both professional and in the social networking and blogging world.

Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times wrote that "Swift gave a strikingly bad vocal performance at Staples Center on Sunday, sounding tinny and rhythmically flat-footed as she shared the microphone with the distinctive Stevie Nicks."

Chris Richards of The Washington Post wrote, "A night in the charmed life of Taylor Swift: Give an incredibly wretched vocal performance, go on to win the biggest Grammy of 2010, anyway."

The Tennessean's Dave Paulson chimed in on a live blog: "Maybe a smidge of Jamie Foxx's autotune wouldn't be such a bad idea for this duet."

Respected music industry blogger Bob Lefsetz first wrote that Fearless deserved to win album of the year, but then proffered that Swift might have single-handedly imperiled her career with this one Grammy performance: "How awful was she? Dreadful."

Lucky Cowboy said "She was off key and it did not sound good at all. She is fine when she sings by herself, but when someone joins her in a duet, it is not good at all."

Scott Borchetta, president and CEO of Swift's record label Big Machine Records, had this response late Monday night.

"The facts say she is the undisputed best communicator that we’ve got," Borchetta said. "So when she says something or feels something it affects more people than anybody else. Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she is the best emotional singer. Everybody gets up there and is technically perfect people don’t seem to want more of it. There’s not an artist in any other format that people want more of than they want of Taylor. I think (the critics) are missing the whole voice of a generation that is happening right in front of them. Maybe they are jealous or can’t understand that. But obviously the people that she talks to are engaged with her. No one is perfect on any given day. Maybe in that moment we didn’t have the best night, but in the same breath, maybe we did."

A midday release announcing Swift's awards noted that immediately after the Sunday show, Swift and her band "left for LAX, headed to Australia and Japan, where she will perform several sold-out shows before returning to the States to launch her FEARLESS 2010 tour March 4th in Tampa."

Jimmy Wayne is nearing the Oklahoma border
Updated Feb. 07, 2010

After a month of walking, Jimmy Wayne is nearing the Oklahoma border in his Meet Me Halfway campaign. The country singer, himself once a homeless teen, is walking from Nashville to Phoenix to raise money and awareness of homeless and at-risk youth and young adults.

Knee pain coupled with snow and ice storms have slowed his pace, but Wayne is still determined to reach his destination: HomeBase Youth Services in Phoenix.

Wayne left Nashville on foot New Year’s Day with a 50-pound backpack totally alone. Since then, an RV and follow car have been donated to the effort. That has provided him with a dry place to sleep some nights, and it also means he doesn’t have to carry his backpack.

“My goal was to walk there, it wasn’t to walk there with a 50-pound bag every day,” Wayne said.

The man driving the follow car, Josh Lewis, has a Bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and was able to give Wayne tips on walking long distances. That, coupled with not having to carry the pack, has eliminated the knee pain.

Early on, Wayne also worried about spending so much time alone. So far that hasn’t happened.

“Every single day someone is stopping to bring food and coffee,” he said. “In Arkansas, the St. Francis Co-op was one of the most amazing experiences, they just embraced this thing. One of the farmers said, ‘Let me cook you up some Arkansas prime rib.’ I said, ‘That’d be nice.’ Then he started cooking bologna, and I fell over I was laughing so hard.”

But Wayne’s goal is still at the forefront of his journey — help and awareness for the kids he feels society has largely forgotten.

“When you say the homeless you think the man standing on the street corner holding a sign,” he said. “This is not that. It’s kids who are in a facility who do not know they are getting ready to become homeless (by aging out of the foster system). I’m not talking about delinquent kids. This is for the kids who want help and desire to have a life beyond living in these facilities. They want to go to college and be on their own.”

Wayne is updating fans and followers during his walk via Twitter (Twitter.com/JimmyWayne); he has picked up hundreds of followers since announcing this effort.

Miranda Lambert Is NOT Getting Married!!!
So stop the rumors

"I have actually not said anything about a wedding," she tells Pennsylvania radio station WIOV. "But last week, I heard that I was pregnant with twins, so there's a lot going on that I don't know about!"

Miranda and boyfriend Blake Shelton may not be planning a ceremony, but they do have a favorite way to unwind when they are both off the road. "We've been doing a little hunting together, and it's been awesome," Miranda reports. "I hunted before I met him, but I never bow-hunted. So he bought me my first bow and taught me how to shoot."

Definitely not following in the vegetarian footsteps of buddies Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler, Miranda is happy to eat the fruits of her labor -- literally. "We love to eat deer meat and wild turkeys that we killed at family get-togethers."

Meals together seem to be few and far between lately. On the road on Brad Paisley's 'American Saturday Night' tour, Miranda also recently enjoyed headlining a few of her own shows, taking along newcomer Josh Thompson for the ride. "He's got some really cool songs," Miranda says of Josh. "His single is called 'Beer on the Table,' and I met him and I was like, 'We need to do some shows together. You're awesome!'"

Miranda will finish Brad's tour just in time to perform at a Mardi Gras celebration in Florida on March 20. In addition to her Grammy nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance on her song 'Dead Flowers,' she was recently added as a Grammy presenter, as well. Watch Miranda on the Grammy Awards on Jan. 31 on CBS.

Taylor Swift Guitar Up For Grabs

Taylor Swift surprised a sold-out crowd of supporters and the museum staff when she announced she would donate her guitar for auction to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Swift kept her donation a secret until after she performed her hit “Fifteen” at the star-packed We’re All for the Hall benefit hosted by Keith Urban in October 2009.

Online bidding for the signed guitar, which features a large “13” affixed to the body (Taylor’s lucky number) will start on February 13.

Loretta Lynn Begins Her 50th Year In The Biz
Despite Tabloid Reports Of Her Pending Demise

Despite what you might be seeing in the grocery store check-out aisles, Loretta Lynn is far from being in "her final days" as she returns from a quiet and relaxing Holiday season in the Bahamas and goes back to work.

Last weekend (1/22-23), she began her 50th year in show business with shows in Conway, AR and in Ft Worth. And last week, announced that she is joining this summer's Lillith Fair Tour.

Loretta says, "I'm happy they wanted me on this Lilith tour. I have never done shows just with other girl singers before. " When I first started out, they said girl singers couldn't sell records or concert tickets. We've come a long way since then and we're gonna have a big time out there!"

“Liar,” “Liar,” Miranda Lambert’s on Fire!

She's sold more than 1.5 million albums and won two ACM awards since she was runner-up on the 2003 season of Nashville Star, and Miranda Lambert is finally celebrating her first No. 1 single. "White Liar" reached the top of the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week, and Lambert celebrated in style: Korbel champagne and Swisher Sweets (photo here). "Thank you fans and Country Radio," she tweeted Sunday (1/24). "We did it together. Time to celebrate!" CALL YOUR RADIO STATION TO REQUEST IT!

Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum, Jack Ingram, boyfriend Blake Shelton and others participated in a Twitter campaign on behalf of the song.

TAYLOR AND JOHN MAYER SPOTTED IN NASHVILLE
January 26, 2009

There are all sorts of tweets flying around that John Mayer and Taylor Swift were spotted together at Cabana in Hillsboro Village, Nashville over the weekend. John was here to tape a CMT Crossroads episode with Keith Urban on Tuesday.

Are Taylor and John are just friends?
Taylor and John recorded the song Half of My Heart for John’s last album. There were about 15 friends all together at the John-Taylor dinner party. “It looked like a big group of Nashville friends,” a source says of the group.
Seems Taylor loves Cabana: She was there earlier in the month, eating a Blanco pizza with provolone cheese and roasted garlic.

MORE............

Taylor Swift and her mom arrived in John Mayer’s posse Tuesday night at the CMT Crossroads taping. John taped the special with Keith Urban, and no, Taylor wasn’t part of the special, that was taped at the Factory in Franklin, TN.

I’m not here to spread any rumors. But, Taylor and John did cut a song together and they’ve been buds for a while. And it was the second time in three nights that John and Taylor hung out in Nashville.

John Mayer brags about hooking up with Taylor Swift
In Touch Weekly Mag Reporting
February 4, 2010

When asked by a friend how his night with Taylor went, John laughed, and boasted, “How do you think it went?”

While HollywoodLife.com is reporting that John Mayer is dating Taylor Swift, In Touch can exclusively reveal that John told a friend that he and Taylor hooked up when they were both in Nashville, Tenn., on January 24. According to a source, the couple met up several times, in public and private, and were first seen getting cozy in a recording studio. “She was sitting on John’s lap, her arms were around him, and she was talking in his ear,” says the source. “They were acting like teenagers.”

That night, John, 32, and Taylor, 20, dined at the restaurant Cabana and were joined by friends afterward. The couple left alone and went back to The Hermitage Hotel, where they arrived in the loading dock to avoid being spotted and were escorted to John’s suite, the source claims. Both of their reps deny the story. But the source claims, “Taylor spent the night and enjoyed mid-morning room service before leaving his suite the next day.”

Though the source says that Taylor “adores” John, it seems the womanizer is up to his old ways, involving yet another starlet in boosting his career. When asked by a friend how his night with Taylor went, John laughed, and boasted, “How do you think it went?”

IT'S CARRIE AND MIKE!
Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher Step Out Together

Singer, Sens forward make first appearance at fundraiser
The Ottawa Sun, Canada January 26, 2010

Carrie Underwood joked about eloping as the cameras flashed during her first-ever appearance with Mike Fisher as an engaged couple.
The debut came at the Bell Sens Soiree Carnaval Mystique fundraiser for the Sens Foundation at the Lac-Leamy Casino in Canada on Monday night.

"No, no, that's not really my style," she said after a party-goer asked her if she had considered it. "But, you know, sometimes, maybe I think about it".

Ottawa media were the first to capture pictures of Fisher and Underwood. U.S. gossip magazines have reportedly offered up to $50,000 for pictures of the couple together — having had to make do with hockey pictures of Fisher spliced alongside various glamorous shots of American Idol winner Underwood.

Shean Donovan was holding court as croupier at the blackjack table before Underwood was ushered over to take part with guests who paid $450 each to be there (corporate tables ran to $4,500). Fisher soon followed, jokingly saying that "I've got my eye on you" to teammate Donovan.

Tarot readers, glitter-clad contortionists and fortune tellers mingled with the elite attending the carny-styled event that also attracted Ottawa mayoral candidate Jim Watson — along with Sens brass, players and members of the business community.

Donovan soon vacated the spot of croupier, handily replaced by Fisher who seemed to instinctively know his way around a poker table. Underwood was comfortable and close with Fisher, taking his arm, patting his hand and joking about her ability to play blackjack.

"I just can't add that fast," she said as Fisher adeptly added up the scores of the women (yes, only women) at the table. Fisher also displayed flourishes-of-hand and gave her advice on how to deal the cards.

"No, take it with your left hand and then transfer it to your right," he admonished after she reached across the table to deal.

Underwood was very friendly with the assembled crowd — even cheered when they scored a blackjack.

Sens centre Jason Spezza's wife Jennifer said, "You can tell where Carrie Underwood is — just follow the glare of the cameras," indicating to the brightly lit spot where Underwood was standing.

Taylor Swift Wielding Magic Wand Over Her
New 4,062-Square-Foot Penthouse

Taylor Swift loves to write songs based on the idea of fairytale romance. Her latest, 'Today Was a Fairytale,' from the 'Valentine's Day' soundtrack builds upon that theme quite nicely. But the reigning princess of pop and country music is building on the whole idea at home, too. Taylor is wielding her magic wand to cast a whimsical spell over the living room of the 4,062-square-foot penthouse she recently purchased in Nashville.

"It's going to be my fantasy world," Taylor says in the current issue of Rolling Stone magazine. "There's a pond in the living room ... the pond is a moat around the fireplace, and may possibly have koi fish in it."

But wait ... there's more magic to be spun!

"You step on a stepping stone in the pond in order to get on a spiral staircase, which takes you up to the human-sized bird cage observatory," Taylor continues. "They're delivering a human-sized birdcage, which I'll put a brass telescope in. The ceiling of my living room is painted like the night sky."

Taylor has spent the past few months designing the interior of her first home, located in The Adelicia in downtown Nashville. The 18-story apartment tower offers such luxurious appointments as a 3,000-square-foot gym, a sprawling rooftop deck with Olympic length lap pool, a private pool-side lounge with catering kitchen for private parties, a resident's only dog park and 24/7 concierge and security services. Other tenants reportedly include Julianne Hough, Kings of Leon lead singer Caleb Followill and 'American Idol' creator Simon Fuller.

Taylor Swift Freaked Out Wednesday January 20

She's the top-selling digital artist in the world.

“I freaked out when I saw that it was No. 1 on iTunes,” said Swift, who is nominated for eight trophies at the January 31 Grammy Awards. “I’m always blown away by what the fans have the ability to do for me.”

Swift is currently working on a follow-up to 2008’s mega-success, Fearless. She didn’t think “Today Was A Fairytale” had a place on the upcoming album, and offered it for the Valentine’s Day soundtrack (she has a role in the movie, as well).

“I wrote that song last summer, and when this movie opportunity came about, I reached back into my pocket and thought, 'I think this is perfect for the soundtrack. I hope it's perfect for the soundtrack.'"

Taylor Swift Plans Autobiography

Taylor Swift has always said that her albums are her diaries, which obviously have been wildly successful. So it's only a matter of time now before her diaries expand into a full-blown book. According to Britain's OK! magazine, the 20-year-old superstar has already written a 350-page novel and is now looking forward to someday penning an autobiography.

"Years from now, it would be cool to write a book about all the crazy stuff and the insane things I've gotten to do," she tells OK!. "My life moves so fast ... I have to write it all down, otherwise, I can't remember where I was yesterday. I will write my biography for sure."

Two Dixie Chicks Rename Themselves as Court Yard Hounds
As reported by Rolling Stone

Emily Robison & Martie Maguire "Court Yard Hounds"

With Natalie Maines on an indefinite hiatus, the other two Dixie Chicks — guitarist-banjoist Emily Robison and her sister, fiddler Martie Maguire — have recorded an album on their own, as Court Yard Hounds (a reference to the best-selling novel City of Thieves). “Emily and I had the itch,” Maguire says, “and every time we’d call Natalie and say ‘are you ready?’ she wasn’t ready. She wanted a clear-cut break.”

Recorded mostly at Maguire’s home studio in Austin, the intimate pop-folk album features Robison’s first-ever lead vocals and songs inspired by her recent divorce from country act Charlie Robison. “When Natalie’s singing a song it has to strike a chord with her,” Robison says. “These songs are very personal.” Robison is joined by Jakob Dylan on “See You in the Spring.” The duo will debut their new band at South by Southwest in March, with the album dropping in May and a tour to follow.

Although Robison and Maguire insist the Chicks haven’t disbanded, they admit they rarely see Maines, who lives in L.A. “I’m hoping she’ll come out to one of our shows,” Maguire says (the group’s last album, Taking the Long Way, came out in 2006). “Maybe it’ll inspire her to want to do music again.”

John Mayer & Taylor Swift Secretly Dating?

Taylor Swift has already lived quite a life given that she's only 20 years old. But now the rumors are flying about her love interest in John Mayer.

While it was said that Selena Gomez cockblocked Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift’s heart fell into the hands of John Mayer.

Reportedly Mayer and Swift shared a nice intimate dinner together at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California on January 6th.

A snitch said, “They came in together and got a private table in a corner of the restaurant. They seemed to really enjoy each other’s company. They definitely looked like a couple. John was telling stories, and she was hanging on every word!”

John Mayer has been absence from the Internet lately but, that isn't stopping speculation about his personal life — he's being singled out as a possible reason for Taylor Swift's split from Taylor Lautner. John, who at 32 is 12 years older than she is, apparently developed a crush on Taylor after asking her to sing on his latest album.

Lucky's advice to Taylor: "Stay away from him......bad news."

More good news: The 2010 Lilith Fair is headed to Nashville.

The Lilith Folks are slowly unveiling specifics about the tour via their official site, so all fans have as far as specific-show detail at present is a list of cities, to which Nashville was added this week. (Other markets include Chicago, New York, London, Los Angeles and a crop of others.)

Lynn — one of the newer additions to the line-up — said she was happy to be a Lilith inductee.

"I have never done shows just with other girl singers before," she said in a statement. "When I first started out, they said girl singers couldn't sell records or concert tickets. We've come a long way since then..."

Trace Adkins Joins Toby Leaves Columbia/Nashville After 15 Years

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Toby Keith merged his Show Dog Nashville with Universal Records South and celebrated by signing a new artist to the label -- Trace Adkins.

Adkins made a surprise entrance at Wednesday's press conference to announce the Show Dog-Universal Music merger, then signed his new contract in front of reporters.

He left Columbia/Nashville for the new deal after 15 years and said he came to the decision after spending time on tour with Keith last summer and discovering they had "a common vision."

Adkins has had 15 top 10 hits and three No. 1 albums in his time with Columbia/Nashville. The singer has completed several new songs for his first album on the merged label and previewed them Tuesday for Keith.

At The Press Conference, Trace explained to reporters that, “While touring together this past summer, Toby and I had some time to get to know each other. Just watching him on stage every night acting like a 12-year-old on Christmas morning, really fired me up, and I said to myself, ‘I want some of that!’ I knew it wasn’t an act, ‘cause Toby ain’t much of an actor.” The room exploded into laughter. Then Toby said to Trace, “Go ahead and sign this contract – you don’t need to read it.” “Read it? Hell I wrote it!” Trace dryly retorted, much to the delight of the gathered crowd.

BROOKS & DUNN TO GET STAR POWER
“ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn — The Last Rodeo.”

A year ago, the Academy of Country Music used the day after its awards show to shoot a massive special celebrating George Strait as the organization’s Artist of the Decade. This year, the ACM makes it a repeat performance, using the day after the 45th annual awards to film another CBS special, “ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn — The Last Rodeo.”

Artists already on board for the B&D tribute include Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and one Reba McEntire, who makes a lot of sense as a guest. She did, after all, join Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn on their single “Cowboys Don’t Cry” — which was a nominee during last year’s ACMs — and Ronnie also wrote the title track of her current Keep On Loving You album. Plus, it’s not like she won’t be around — Reba is set to host the ACMs for the 12th time in its history.

OMG! Is Miley Cyrus Ready to Tie the Knot?

It wouldn't be the first time Miley Cyrus did something a little mature for her 17 years. After HollywoodLife.com ran photos of Miley with a sparkler on her left ring finger, tongues started wagging that she and her 19-year-old Australian hottie of a Last Song costar, Liam Hemsworth , may be getting hitched.

And a source extremely close to Cyrus tells E! News the moppet is set on being a young bride…

While the starlet may be saying farewell to Hannah Montana, she's not quite ready to give up her singleton status. The insider confirms that Miley is not engaged, but she's "totally in love" and thinks Liam is "the one." (No offense, Nick Jonas and Justin Gaston!) And a trip down the aisle may not be all that far off. Miley sees herself "marrying young," our source says, "but not at 17."

Brad Paisley's Dad Saves a Life at Son's Show

It was just another 'American Saturday Night' on Jan. 9, at Brad Paisley's Wichita, Kansas concert. The country superstar was putting on another one of his trademark electrifying shows, and screaming fans were raising the arena roof ... as usual.

But backstage there was something else happening. The Wichita Eagle reports that a venue worker had collapsed in an arena hallway. And when Brad's dad, Doug Paisley -- who happens to be a volunteer firefighter and EMT, saw him lying on the floor in distress, he immediately began performing CPR.

It turns out, the arena employee was having a heart attack. But Doug, along with the help of another heroic witness backstage, was able to keep the man alive -- even getting the venue's automated external defibrillator ready until paramedics arrived.

Tim McGraw's new film starts production in Nashville

Tim McGraw is still riding pretty high on the success of his latest film, The Blind Side (Variety shows a box office cache of almost $220 million), which teamed him with top leading lady Sandra Bullock.

But he's already moved on to another film, and another blockbuster leading lady: Love Don’t Let Me Down, with co-star Gwyneth Paltrow, which began production this week in Nashville.

Along with McGraw and Paltrow, Love will also feature Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester (who shares McGraw's musical inclinations — you've likely heard her in Cobra Starship's major hit "Good Girls Go Bad") and Garrett Hedlund (who joined McGraw in the cast of 2004 football flick Friday Night Lights).

Since it's being done here in Middle Tennessee, McGraw isn't the only local being put to work on the $15 million project: Production company Screen Gems intends to tap area residents for "almost 75 percent of the film’s crew and 90 percent of the film’s cast," a release from the Tennessee Film, Entertainment and Music Commission noted.

The gist of the plot, according to writer and director Shana Feste, focuses on "a rising young singer-songwriter (Hedlund) who becomes involved with a fallen country singer (Paltrow). As they embark on a career resurrection tour with her husband and manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester), romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all."

CARRIE UNDERWOOD PLANS HER WEDDING
"ACE" will be ring-bearer

She hasn't decided on the wedding date yet, but piece by delicious piece, Carrie Underwood has been revealing little tidbits about what she wants for her wedding. That includes big hair and a lot of eyeliner, to compliment a white dress she's shopping around for.

"I want it to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it -- not real flowers," she tells In Style magazine of the wedding dress she envisions. And as for the designer of Carrie's choice? "It'll probably be someone I've worked with before."

More tasty morsels of wedding details she's dreaming of: she wants lots of good food and an open bar, and she wants her little dog, Ace, to be her ring-bearer!

When asked after the People's Choice Awards what her 'Kodak Moment' in life was, the multi-platinum superstar took but a moment to reflect before gushing, "Oh, my gosh ... other than tonight? I've had a lot of moments -- winning 'American Idol' -- I see pictures of that still, all the time.

"But here's the moment I'm most looking forward to -- I plan for my dog to be in my wedding. I plan for him to be the little ring-bearer, having him walk down the aisle all dressed up in a tuxedo. I'm serious! That will be a Kodak moment."

Being camera-shy shouldn't be a problem for Ace, when he performs for that 'Kodak Moment.' The little rat terrier already has acting experience under his collar. Carrie featured her beloved Ace in her 'All-American Girl' music video, and also in her Fox TV holiday special last month.

Underwood got engaged to her fiance Mike Fisher, hockey player of the Ottawa Senators in December.

TEN YEARS OF RASCAL FLATTS......NOW WHAT?

The new year marks the beginning of a new decade, but 2010 is specifically the start of a second decade for Rascal Flatts. The band released its debut single, “Prayin’ For Daylight,” in April 2000, kicking off one of the most successful artist careers thus far in the 21st century.

Built around a pop-leaning sound and big harmonies, the trio won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year award six times in a row before Lady Antebellum knocked them off in November. The guys have had five albums sell 2 million copies or more; they’ve appeared on the soundtracks to Hannah Montana: The Movie, Cars and The Emperor’s New Groove; and they’ve become one of the top headlining acts in the business, selling out Wrigley Field in Chicago and Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

But make no mistake: They’ve got more to do in the years ahead.

“We’ve talked about doing a gospel record someday,” bass player Jay DeMarcus told The Tennessean. “We’d like to do a full-blown Christmas record at some point, and we’d like to stretch some, too.”

What constitutes stretching? Well, for a band that’s been compared to pop acts since its debut, that means doing more standard country fare.

“The six records we’ve done have been unmistakably Rascal Flatts,” Jay said. “But there’s an itch inside of each one of us that wants to do a hardcore country record that hearkens back to the stuff we grew up on, and that our parents loved, and that we’ve been singing our whole lives. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see a few surprises from us.”

In the meantime, look for Rascal Flatts to mount a 10th anniversary tour this summer.

Carrie Underwood is gonna play a love interest for the lead dude, Ted, on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Carrie will play Tiffany, who, according to a press release, is “an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep.” The episode will tape later this month and will air in March.

Clay Walker, who has multiple sclerosis, is playing a fund-raiser Feb. 23 at the Wildhorse Saloon. The concert Chords of Hope: The Clay Walker MS Benefit Concert. Tix are $10 to $50, and you can start getting them at 10 a.m. Saturday through the Wildhorse Saloon.

Kenny Chesney introduces his casual clothes line called Blue Chair Bay. And now you can buy his line of clothing at Cowboys and Angels, in Gaylord Opryland Resort. The line includes sun-washed looking T-shirts and worn-looking baseball caps. So you can look like Kenny Chesney.

Miley Cyrus tapes her last season as Hannah Montana. A Disney exec told the New York Post that the upcoming season of Hannah Montana will be the last. Miley’s TV show got an average of five million viewers a week. Mickey is crying all the way to the bank.

Garth teams up with Professional Bull Riders for kids.
Professional bull riders are joining a Garth Brooks-sponsored foundation to benefit youngsters. At a news conference Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, representatives of Professional Bull Riders, Inc., said the group hopes to raise $1 million this year for Teammates for Kids. One of Brooks' hits was "Rodeo" in 1991. His video for the song "The Dance" cited bull rider Lane Frost, who died in a 1989 rodeo accident in Cheyenne, Wyo. Brooks and 67 major league baseball players co-founded Teammates for Kids 11 years ago.

Zac Brown Band followers know that frontman Zac is no stranger to cooking up a fantastic southern meal. Last summer, the band embarked on their first headlining tour, 'Breaking Southern Ground,' which featured an exclusive 'Eat and Greet' where certain lucky fans scored a full-fledged meal with the band prior to their performance. Zac has now joined forces with Americana musician John Brown to release the cookbook, 'Southern Ground,' credited to Zac Brown and Friends. The cookbook has removable index cards containing 27 of the most coveted recipes from Zac and his pals including Southern Fried Chicken, Hearty Brunswick Stew, Farmer's Fried Green Tomatoes and Revival Peach Cobbler. The book also contains dozens of poems, songs, stories -- both fact and lore -- and photographs. The 'Southern Ground' cookbook is available for $24.99 exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores or through the store's website.

Music City Counts Down New Year
With First Ever Guitar Drop

NASHVILLE NEW YEARS EVE "BASH ON BROADWAY" VIDEO

NASHVILLE, Tenn. January 01, 2010 – A Bash on Broadway with thousands of people rang in the New Year, and a big flashing guitar dropped in Music City.

Crowd estimated at between 10,000 and 14,000 flooded Broadway.

Country star Rodney Atkins headlined the concert on Broadway before the countdown. Other performers included Marc Broussard and Jonny Lang, along with The Dirt Drifters and Gabe Dixon.

The Bash on Broadway was presented by the Hard Rock Cafe. This was the first city operated event downtown since 2004.

Final preparations were underway Thursday morning for the New Year's celebration. Crews had been working on building an 85 foot tower to support the 10 foot tall guitar that came down at midnight.

Broadway was closed from 1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue for the New Year's bash.

MEET A LITTLE CALIFORNIA SUNSHINE

"I WISH THEY COULD ALL BE CALIFORNIA GIRLS!"
But she's from Georgia Ya'll.

THE SUN SHINES ON ERICA LEE
San Mateo Daily Journal - San Mateo, Calif.

Congrats to Erica Sunshine Lee, winner of the San Francisco Bay Area Finals of the Colgate Country Showdown!!! ERICA SUNSHINE LEE

When Burlingame, California resident Erica Lee lost her job in 2008, she took the opportunity to pursue her passion full time — music.

She had spent years selling cars at Putnam Chevrolet Cadillac and working as a recruiting manager for another company while she paid her way through Belmont’s Notre Dame de Namur University studying marketing and French. The tall Georgia native with her Southern drawl and long blonde hair also played softball and basketball for the university.

She also fronted a classic rock cover band called Pier Pressure that played all over the Bay Area. She came out to the Peninsula for a summer to visit her airline hostess sister nine years ago and never left.

These days there is a “Sunshine” in between the names Erica and Lee and the music she pursues is a little more country and a little less rock.

She is currently in the midst of promoting her second studio album “Road to Recovery” recorded at Funhouse Studios in Nashville and Granada Studios in Half Moon Bay. Lee played a New Year’s Eve show in Reno and will play a show this Thursday night at the Broadway Grill in Burlingame with her full band. She is not shy to pull out her guitar, though, and play acoustically in the middle of a crowded downtown sidewalk.

Erica Sunshine Lee wants to be famous and isn’t afraid to say it. She hopes to use all those tools working in sales and studying marketing to hit the big time as a country star.

Not only does she write her own music, she learned how to play the guitar all on her own when she lost her patience with a former guitarist who couldn’t be there at those critical moments when Lee was feeling especially musically inspired.

She is intent on making it in Nashville as a country star but doesn’t mind branding herself “folk rock” when she plays gigs in the Bay Area.

Her first studio album, “Struggle Street,” took Lee on a tour of America through Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Philadelphia. She has also performed in Amsterdam, Costa Rica and Hawaii.

“I’ve done lots of road trippin’ and sleeping in the car,” Lee said. She has made friends, though, through social networking sites such as Facebook and has found new fans in new cities she visits who are willing to offer her a bed for the night.

Her songs mix the best of old traditional folk music and new country with an emphasis on family and lost love.

She sings about grandpa’s love of whiskey and waking up in strangers’ beds. And although she credits Lucinda Williams, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash as some of her main influences she grew up in a town of people who were more likely to listen to Mary J. Blige than Carrie Underwood.

“I never set out to be a country singer. It just ended up that way,” Lee said.

Like many aspiring singers, Lee auditioned for “American Idol” back in 2007 but didn’t make it to Hollywood. “I crossed that one off the list,” she said.

But Lee isn’t necessarily interested in making it in Hollywood, it is Nashville she has her sights set on. And even if Nashville does not embrace Burlingame’s own budding country star, she’d be just as happy making ends meet playing shows right here in the Bay Area.

DIERKS TAKES A COLD PLUNGE TO RING IN 2010

Dierks Bentley has admittedly done a few outrageous things in the past, but the singer's annual lake jump with his "Gladiator friends" -- including his band, fellow songwriters and even a few children -- has to top the list as his craziest feat.

New Years Day 2010 in Nashville was a a bone-chilling 28 degrees, but a YouTube video shows daredevil Dierks in nothing but a pair of swim trunks, doing a 'backwards slow marches' into the frigid waters of Percy Priest Lake near Nashville, TN.

Dierks Bentley- Lake Jump 2010

Dierks admits that a certain point of freeze-framing the video might require going 'audio silent' in order to keep the clip PG-rated. He also reveals that 'critical shrinkage' was definitely experienced in the cold waters.

TAYLOR BUYS HERSELF A CONDO
You knew it was a matter of time before we would have the images and here you go.

BUYER: Taylor Swift
LOCATION: Midtown Nashville, TN
PRICE: $1,990,000
SIZE: 4,062 square feet, 3 bedrooms,
4.5 bathrooms

Taylor had bought herself a condo. But let me tell you that she didn't just buy herself a condo in a nice family neighborhood or building where kids play and small dogs romp and bark at little old men and women. Nope, she bought herself a great big fancy penthouse.

According to RealEstalker.com Taylor bought the 4,062 square foot, 3 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom penthouse in Nashville's Adelicia complex for nearly $2 million buckaroos. Check out the floor plan of Taylor's quaint starter home.

Other buyers at The Adelicia are reported to include Dancing With the Stars dancer turned country music singer Julianne Hough, Kings of Leon lead singer Caleb Followill, and filthy rich American Idol founder Simon Fuller who, like Miss Swift, also selected a penthouse unit according to property records. Maybe the can all get together at the private pool-side lounge for a meet and greet.

KENNY CHESNEY GETS POOCHES "MOLLY" & "DOLLY"
Puppies get ride on Kenny's private jet.

"I Finally Found Somebody and it's Beer In Mexico, Kegs In The Closet, Guitars And Tiki Bars with Kenny Chesney. I Think His Tractor Is Sexy."

So did you read the story about Kenny Chesney buying a couple of high-end ankle biting pooches? Seems Kenny and girlfriend Amy Colley flew into the Bardstown-Nelson County Airport in Kentucky on a puppy-buying mission back on December 18th. They visited Cathy Adamson at Puppies Plus and bought up two itty bitty woodle teacup MaltiPoo puppies they named Molly and Dolly. The puppy above isn't one of Kenny and Amy's new pups but it does make you want to rush out and splurge on one of the $2500 creatures doesn't it?

Adamson told the Kentucky Standard that she had no idea who Kenny or Colley were until she had driven the pair back to the airport and got to get on board Kenny's private jet where the crew informed her she had just sold puppies to Kenny Chesney. Her response? “If Mel Gibson walked up to my door I’d know him, but other than that … .”

Ha ha. Love that. She should have given Kenny the puppies for free just for the free advertising she's getting out of this story.

But now for the part I don't quite understand. How the heck is Kenny dating anyone and I had no clue? Last thing I heard he had told a Las Vegas paper that he was single and word was he and Amy had broken up. That was months and months ago. I think Kenny could give John Rich a run for his money in the dating-under-cover department. Touche to Kenny.

WHO HAD THE TOP MONEY TOURS IN 2009

Country artists had seven of the top 50 tours of the year, led by Kenny Chesney at No. 6 with a gross of $71.1 million. Other stars on the mult-genre list include Keith Urban, ($42.7 million), Rascal Flatts ($42.2m), Brad Paisley ($35.4m), Toby Keith ($29.7m), Taylor Swift ($25.5m) and George Strait ($22m).

JIMMY BUFFETT'S MARGARETVILLE PLANNED FOR NASHVILLE?

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- There are signs Nashville could soon become home to one of Jimmy Buffett's Margaretville restaurants.

There's a job listing for a general manager in Music City on the company Web site.

The old Planet Hollywood location, most recently the Global Cafe at 3rd and Broad, is a possible location for the restaurant. But the Nashville Post reported the owners of that space haven't leased it for a Margaritaville restaurant.

MEET MEGAN LINVILLE

MEGAN LINVILLE MY SPACE

MEGAN LINVILLE...Remember that name and face cause she's on her way to become a Superstar!

Some may say the "music gene" is a curse, but Megan Linville chose to view it as a blessing by following in the footsteps of generations of family performers and songwriters. Born and raised in the rolling hillside country, north of Nashville, Tennessee, Megan somehow knew that she would also take that same time-worn path that beckoned her to follow.

Her deep-rooted love of music can be traced back to her great, great, great, great grandfather (many "great grandfathers" ago), noted hymn composer Jonathon Edwards. Several generations of hymn writers, singers, performers, and probably a few snake oil sellers came and went. Great grandfather, Samuel Lewis McBee, was a Vaudeville performer, performing with the likes of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope and with his band, The Radio Serenaders, played the first live music aired on radio in Alabama. Megan's grandfather, Jerry McBee, was a noted Nashville singer/songwriter who wrote well over 700 songs for Nashville's country stars, including the late, great Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Arnold, Billy Walker and many others throughout several decades of his career.

Megan's first live performance was at the age of 7 in front of a "captive audience" of over 250 wedding attendees where she belted out the "Theme From Love Story" never missing a beat or even batting an eye. Throughout her school years she sang at every talent show, musical, play and county festival that she possibly could.

Megan began focusing on a career in country music while still in high school. After class, Megan would wind her way down to Music Row where she soon began making friends and acquiring a working knowledge of some of the "ins and outs" of the Nashville music industry. For her, the desire to succeed in this business was like pouring gasoline on a flame.

After high school, she began crafting her own style of songs writing with talented Nashville songwriters. Her growing catalog of songs identifies the sassy, up-tempo, female-empowering, fun, country style that she loves...(picture Jason Aldean in high heels and a short skirt!) Writer's nights and showcasing with a band at various venues around Music City and the mid-TN area quickly followed. While writing and continuing to hone her craft, she had the chance to sing extensively in the studio, took tons of vocal, performance and guitar lessons, never forgetting these old words of wisdom, " if you ever stop growing you must be dead."

Megan recorded her inaugural CD under the production of the multi-talented, Grammy award winning John Carter Cash in August of 2007. "The rush of recording at the famed Cash Cabin Studio and actually singing into the microphone that the Man in Black recorded on was a very powerful and humbling experience," said Megan.

Megan continues to dig deep into the business of the music industry by writing with many of Nashville's talented songwriters along with building an exciting, action-packed performance schedule "hop-scotching" from coast-to-coast with a band that is made up of a group of some of Nashville's finest musicians. Megan knows that each leg of this journey is exciting but it also requires tremendously long, pressure-filled hours of hard work, persistance and professionalism. However, "If the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise," Megan prays that you'll be hearing a lot more of her as the future unfolds.

Taylor Swift announces second leg of 'Fearless' tour in 2010
Including dates in US, Australia

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — Taylor Swift isn't ready for her fairy tale to end, so she's doing what any other savvy 19-year-old would do — continuing the story.

The country singer says a second leg of her "Fearless" tour will kick off in Australia in February. She'll also be playing nearly 30 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

"We had so much fun on the 'Fearless' tour the first time around that we decided that we had to keep going with it," she says. "So we will be relaunching the 'Fearless' tour in February in Australia, and then coming back and doing a bunch more cities in America."

The 2010 tour opens Feb. 4 in Brisbane. Swift will do five shows in Australia. She'll also be playing nearly 30 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Kellie Pickler and Gloriana will return as the opening acts.

All 52 concerts on the 2009 tour sold out in minutes, including New York's Madison Square Garden. Swift said she hopes the second go-round will be as successful.

"I always expected to have to do a lot of stressing out about selling tickets. And then I went on my first headlining tour, and everything just sold out," she said. "I've never expected that kind of success. I've never just felt entitled to my shows selling out or things like this happening to me, but the fact that they've happened to me has been wonderful."

She said her fans make her feel like she's "won the lottery of dreams coming true."

TAYLOR SWIFT'S NEW TOUR WILL USE HIGH-TECH

Country artists may sing about the simple life and sweet tea and getting back to basics and all things rural. But the truth is, they are just as high-tech and marketing savvy as their rock star brethren. In fact, at Wednesday's (Dec. 6) Consumer Electronics Association's trade show in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift was standing beside Sony CEO Howard Stringer to announce she'll be using the company's 3-D technology to document her 2010 tour. "I feel like my fans are all very cutting edge," she said. "So when it comes to technology, I'm very interested in what's the newest and the best. My tour starts up next month in Australia and Japan, and I'm very much looking forward to documenting all the behind-the-scenes and on-tour footage using 3-D." That doesn't mean Swift fans will be watching all this 3-D footage at home, though, because the new technology doesn't work with existing equipment. In fact, there's a possibility that she may just use the technology to record events for her personal use. At the moment, there are no plans for a 3-D documentary or video, but that can always change.
