Shania Twain Update
Shania Twain has two tools for mending her broken heart: music and her 6-year-old son, Eja. "She's spending as much time with Eja as possible and hasn't put down her guitar since the split," a source close to Twain tells PEOPLE magazine. "The songs are pouring out of her." Twain made headlines back in May when she announced her separation from husband of 14 years, Robert "Mutt" Lange. The demise of her marriage, allegedly caused by an affair between Lange and a close family friend, has not kept her at home either. Since the split, she has been spotted vacationing in the Caribbean and shopping in her native Canada. As for the new music she's writing on the road, it's not confirmed yet when we'll hear it. But we do know there's likely a plethora of material for a new CD. "I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music," Twain writes on her website. "This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey. I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."

Gretchen Wilson Hits a Home Run
Fans have voted Gretchen Wilson's version of 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' as their favorite. ESPN's 'Baseball Tonight' commemorated the 100th anniversary of the famous seventh inning stretch song with a Battle of the Bands competition. Nine artists made music videos of their versions of the song that were televised on the show over a two week stretch. The eclectic group of competitors included Candlebox, Reo Speedwagon, John Pizzarelli and Branford Marsalis. But fans voted Gretchen Wilson's country version the winner. Wilson herself is a huge baseball fan. "My mom had me in the girly stuff first -- ballet and dance classes. But as soon as I was old enough to make my own decisions, I was playing baseball," Wilson told ESPN. "I took after my Uncle Vern. He was an all-star back home." More Gretchen News...... Gretchen’s newest single will be at your local country radio station on July 14, but you can hear it first, at GRETCHEN WILSON on the brand new Gretchen Wilson Jukebox on her site! Help spread the word about Gretchen’s new single on radio July 14th when she’ll need your help to request to hear “Don’t Do Me No Good” on radio stations near you!

It's the cows causing global warming, it's the cows! Cow emissions more damaging to the planet than CO2 from cars
Noxious Cows...... Just when you think you’ve seen it all. Forgive me - please, but the public has a right to now. Try not to gag on your corn flakes. Last week I was greeted by the following headlines from U.K.’s “Independent” on-line newspaper: “Cow emissions more damaging to the planet than CO2 from cars.” It seems the world’s 1.5 billion cattle are responsible for 18% of greenhouse gases sparking a global warming trend, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transportation put together. Their “wind” and manure emits more than a third of all methane, 20 times stronger than CO2. In addition, ranching often leads to deforestation, overgrazing turns 1/5th of pastures into deserts worldwide. First, I’m happy not to be one of the scientists tackling this big, bovine problem. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very pro-cow. But it seems we have a bit of a problem. The solution? Researchers are at a loss. Better diets? Truckloads of Tums? While we ponder this odd load of bull let me welcome you to Lucky Cowboy Dot Com, No Bull!

Taylor Swift makes music history
Taylor Swift is now officially the only solo female act in the 44-year history of the Billboard Country Chart to score five Top 10 singles from a debut album. Her latest hit, 'Should've Said No,' hit the Top 10 this week. It's the fifth single from her triple-platinum selling debut album. This isn't Swift's first time to make music history. Last year, at age 17, she became the youngest person to single-handedly write and sing and No. 1 country single, as 'Our Song' spend six weeks at No. 1. (Read the story behind that song, in Swift's own words, here.) The teen sensation is also the first female solo artist in country music history to write or co-write every song on a platinum-selling debut CD. Swift is spending her summer on the road with Rascal Flatts.
