The Lucky Cowboy - biography

Who is that crazy cowboy?

Lucky was born at a very young age in the "Land of Lincoln."  Alton, Illinois, to be exact, is where old Lucky is from. Alton is famous for its celebrities of stage and screen. Remember Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world? How about TV star Clint Walker of "Cheyenne" and Butch Calvey the singer? Alton is also where one of the famous Lincoln/Douglas debates took place, and where Bluff City Beer was made. It seems Lucky was just destined to be a famous person.

In his early years, Lucky appeared at the Madison Avenue Corral in Alton as a live DJ for WOKZ radio. He's been a trapeze artist, a motorcycle stunt rider, and even hosted his own carnival. He was a National Indian Chief for the Boy Scouts of America and managed a scout camp. Lucky spent some time in Minnesota where he still has many country fans.

Nowadays, old Lucky is based in Nashville, TN, Music City USA. Here he founded Lucky Cowboy Productions. You might catch him anywhere in Nashville, or somewhere in the rest of the USA promoting country music. He's even been on the Today Show! But you'll always find him wearing his famous forty gallon orange cowboy hat - you can't miss him wherever he goes.

Lucky's favorite song is "I Feel Lucky." His handprints are on the WE Fest "Walk of Fame," and there's even a ceramic bobblehead doll of Lucky. Yep, you can bet old Lucky will continue to be a star in his own right.

Watch out for Lucky as you might just get "Lucky!" Yeeeeeeeeehaw!!! Let's Party Like A Cowboy! LUCKY COWBOY Since 1992

Cold Beer and Burgers on the grill. What's better than that? HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND Y'ALL! Be Safe.

What better way to kick off Memorial Day than with a parade. God Bless the USA.

MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY MAY 27, 2013 CELEBRATE AND REFLECT
As Memorial Day approaches, it's time to reflect on what the holiday means and the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. Dierks Bentley looks at the time he spends away from his family while touring and compares it to the time those deployed spend away from their loved ones to keep everything in perspective.

“I just think about being gone two, three days at a time, maybe a couple of weeks at a time,” he said. “That seems like a long time when you have kids and family, but these soldiers, they’re gone for months and years at a time and they have family back home. That, in itself, is such a huge sacrifice, and that’s just the beginning of it. That’s just scratching the surface of what these guys [and gals] are doing every day – preparing for battle, actually being in battle, being wounded in battle, sometimes dying in battle.” WE SALUTE ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED THIS GREAT NATION.

While your celebrating this weekend, don't forget Moore, Oklahoma. they'll be picking up the pieces from the storm. DONATE NOW! RED CROSS RELIEF.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD DONATES $1 MILLION TO OKLAHOMA TORNADO RELIEF

NASHVILLE, TENN May 24, 2013 - Carrie Underwood is donating $1 million from her current tour to the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief efforts in Oklahoma. The contribution comes from concert proceeds during her Blown Away tour which wrapped up Thursday night (May 23) in Abbottsford, British Columbia.

"I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness," Underwood said. "With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornados."

Monday's twister that hit Moore, Okla., killed 24 people, destroyed an estimated 13,000 homes and caused an estimated $2 billion in damage.

Underwood established a charitable fund when the tour began in 2012. In November, she donated profits from a concert in Atlantic City, N.J., to relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy struck New Jersey. Funds from the latest donation will be used to pay for disaster relief initiatives in Oklahoma and other states.

“Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy,” Shelton said. “This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero.”

The event will raise funds for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund. Working with their local community partners, United Way of Central Oklahoma will use the Fund for immediate, intermediate and long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts in Oklahoma following the tornadoes that devastated Moore earlier this week.
Born and raised in Oklahoma and currently residing in the city of Tishomingo, the recent tragedy that struck the state this week hit close to home for Shelton. TOBY KEITH TO MAKE ANNOUNCEMENT SOON ON HIS BENEFIT PLANS
Wednesday morning, another musician -- Moore's own Toby Keith -- told the Tulsa World: "We are still figuring out what we will do but we will do something good. I will make an announcement soon."

At least 24 people, including nine schoolchildren, were killed Monday afternoon May 20 in Moore, Okla., when an F-5 tornado with 200 mph winds touched down for 40 minutes and destroyed entire neighborhoods. Toby Keith, a native of Moore, also is planning a benefit. His sister’s house was hit by the tornado.

TOBY KEITH: "MOORE, OKLAHOMA IS THE REASON I NEVER MOVED TO NASHVILLE"

MOORE, OKLA. May 23, 2013 - As devastating as the tragic tornado in Oklahoma was, Moore is still home to Toby Keith. "It's the reason I never moved to Nashville. It's home. I tried to live other places and always just came back here," Keith told NBC News anchor Brian Williams on Tuesday (May 21).

"I'm very proud to have my name on that water tower." He also pointed out some of the highlights of the town -- like the grocery store on the corner where he got his baseball cards and the bike run down Fourth Street -- as he explained why Moore was so special and so resilient. "You see people pitching in and helping the second that it hit," he said of the tornado. "My son-in-law went right in, turned his truck over getting in there, gets electrocuted climbing in the school, the EMT guys pull him out of there and tend to him, and then he goes right back in and helps with search and rescue. Everybody's like that."

Keith also talked with CNN's Anderson Cooper and said that the Plaza Towers Elementary School did everything they could to protect the students. "Everyone here [in Nashville] was going, 'How do you live there? How did they leave those kids in school?' It's coming right at us, and you can't call the parents and say, 'Come get them now,'" he said. "Oklahoma's just so resilient, they did they best they could."

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED NOW! Help Moore, Oklahoma put their lives back together. VISIT: www.redcross.org - DONATE: 1-800-REDCROSS - TEXT: REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

TOBY KEITH SAYS HIS HOMETOWN OF MOORE, OKLAHOMA 'WILL PERSERVERE'

The F4 tornado that cut a path through Moore, Oklahoma on Monday has left at least 24 dead and many more injured. Families, including the family of country's own Toby Keith, are spending the days following coming to terms with the tragedy and the debris left behind. The singer revealed that his sister's house was among those damaged by the storm.

During an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Keith said the storm passed less than a mile from his mother's house. Plaza Towers Elementary School, where seven students died and more are missing, was just blocks from where he grew up. The damage and death toll would have been worse, he said, had it not been for the work of local meteorologists and media preparing residents for the storm.

"This storm has devastated the community that I grew up in," Keith said on his website. "I rode my bike through those neighborhoods. I have family and friends in Moore. My heart and prayers go to those that have lost so much. But Moore is strong and we will persevere. God be with you all."

Singer Kellie Coffey also comes from Moore, but many more country singers were raised or currently live in the state. Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood all have Oklahoma roots.

COUNTRY STARS RESPOND
Carrie Underwood, from Checotah, Oklahoma, sent her thoughts and prayers through Twitter. “I’m thinking about and praying for my beautiful home state and the people in it tonight,” she wrote.

Reba, born and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma, also took to Twitter to offer her support. “All my prayers go out to the folks in Oklahoma dealing with these tornados. Stay safe everyone!!!!” she tweeted.

Blake Shelton, a native Oklahoman, and wife Miranda Lambert who now calls Oklahoma home, sent well wishes through Twitter. “Just landed in LA and hearing about all the tornados in Oklahoma right now… Get somewhere safe!!!” Blake tweeted. “Pray. That’s all we can do. Pray for peace for Oklahoma,” Miranda wrote.

Trisha Yearwood, who also calls Oklahoma home, asked for prayers through Facebook. “#PrayForOklahoma. Pray for everyone devastated by these storms, but especially for those families in Moore, OK right now…God, wrap your arms around this community,” she wrote.

Ronnie Dunn, who lived in Tusla for many years in the early days of his career and was there yesterday, barely made it out of the state before the storms hit. “Watching CNN …not good! We got out just as it was hitting. Pray for the victims and DO what you can. My bunch is in Tulsa….going back and forth with them now,” he wrote on Facebook.

Lucky Cowboy is encouraging everyone to make a $10 donation to the America Red Cross by visiting www.redcross.org, dialing 1-800-REDCROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Praying for everyone in the great state of Oklahoma.

The Nashville Music City Center is open for business May 21, 2013.

GRAND OPENING ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS
NASHVILLE, TENN. May 21, 2013 - With a country music superstar Brad Paisley serving as his opening act inside the city’s sparkling new massive downtown showplace, Mayor Karl Dean said Monday that Nashville needs to work hard to make sure it keeps adding to its recent portfolio of honors and accomplishments.

“Is Nashville going to be a one-hit wonder? Or are we a legend in the making?” Dean said during his annual State of Metro address in the soaring Grand Lobby of Music City Center, the $585 million convention hall that opened Sunday.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony outside Music City Center at Fifth Avenue South and Demonbreun Street, Mayor Dean focused on the new facility, saying it will open “a new world of opportunity for Nashville’s hospitality and tourism industry.”

On Monday the star power came from Brad Paisley, whose repeated, good-natured struggles to remember the words to his song “Welcome to the Future” prompted Mayor Dean to quip that the singer should start using a teleprompter. Free musical performances by Phil Vassar, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill later in the evening were open to the public. Those attending CMA Music Fest will get a chance to see the new center with CMA hosting their Fan X event in the building.

Trace Adkins Is The 'All-Star Celebrity Apprentice'
May 19, 2013 - You're Hired! Country star Trace Adkins wins 'All Star Celebrity Apprentice'. After a two-hour extravaganza, Trace Adkins was declared the winner of "All Star Celebrity Apprentice." Donald Trump chooses Adkins over magician Penn Jillette giving Adkins $250K for his charity, the American Red Cross.

Trace Adkins is the winner of Celebrity Apprentice! Meaning that Penn Jillette was fired by Donald Trump Sunday night on the show finale. The choice didn’t just come down to money, even though Trace raised more than Penn. Instead, it was a mixture of success at the Final Challenge as well as other business-y traits that Trump found appealing. Would either finalist have preferred the other to lose? Trace and Penn were so close. One was an atheist! The other was the devil! (Says the atheist ) As Penn told Trace during their respective events: One of them would win, but it wouldn’t be by much. Congrats to Trace for raising $1.5 million for the Red Cross.

'DANCING WITH THE STARS': KELLIE PICKLER CROWNED WINNER!
Congratulations to Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough for taking home the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 16!

MAY 22, 2013 - The dramatic music soared and tension increased as the finalists stood, waiting for the decision of who would be the champion of Season 16 of "Dancing With the Stars." The final two pairs were so close in the scoring during the last dances that only a single point separated them. Host Tom Bergeron read out each of their names -- Kellie and Derek, Zendaya and Val -- as the four took deep breaths and closed their eyes. One more moment of waiting and then, "The winners are ... Kellie and Derek!"

Country singer and "American Idol" contestant Kellie Pickler, with the help of pro partner Derek Hough, has transformed into a championship dancer, and she has the tacky but terrific Mirrorball Trophy to prove it. She was so shocked, all she could do was jump for joy, as her husband, grandfather and the rest of her family celebrated. "Grampa, we got you the trophy, buddy," yelled Derek to the man who, with his late wife, raised Kellie.

Run ole Bocephus through a jukebox needle

At a honky-tonk, where their boots stomp
All night; what? (That's right)
Yea, and what they call work, digging in the dirt
Gotta get it in the ground 'fore the rain come down
To get paid, to get the girl
In your 4 wheel drive (A country boy can survive)

Yea the boys 'round here
Drinking that ice cold beer
Talkin' 'bout girls, talkin' 'bout trucks
Runnin' them red dirt roads out, kicking up dust
The boys 'round here
Sending up a prayer to the man upstairs
Backwoods legit, don't take no sh*t
Chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco, spit

AUSTIN, TEXAS MAY 21 - SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS MAY 22 - DALLAS, TEXAS MAY 25.

Taylor Swift performs at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Taylor Swift has Austin audience seeing, hearing and wearing red, and that’s a good thing.
AUSTIN, TEXAS May 21, 2013 -
An hour and a half and two opening acts — one-man-electric-acoustic-guitar band Ed Sheeran and newcomers country rockers Florida Georgia Line — Taylor Swift hit the stage Tuesday night at the sold-out Erwin Center to the ear-deafening sound of young girls screaming.

They came dressed in red, Swift’s new album title and signature color. They held flashing signs of favorite songs or love notes to Swift. They came chaperoned mostly by moms, with the occasional dad. Some high school and college-age fans came as big groups, but dressed to the nines in outfits reminiscent of Swift videos. The occasional boyfriend also showed up.

Taylor Swift performs at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on May 21, 2013.

For a full two hours, Swift entertained, with elaborate sets, quick costume changes, fireworks and theatrical staging. “The Lucky One” started with a Hollywood movie screener and then transformed into a paparazzi red carpet scene. “22” felt like she could have been on the set of “Grease,” with everyone dressed in late 1950s-early 1960s attire. “I Knew You Were Trouble” turned into a masquerade ball in the rockingest number of the night. Then there was the romance and ballet dancers of “Love Story,” the circus of “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and the carousel of “Mean.” The audience never knew what would happen next — confetti flying through the air? puffs of smoke? fireworks?

Swift made use of multiple platforms from the staircase in the center of the stage that then became a raised platform, to the thrust stage that raised to serve as a faux tight rope, to being carried by her dancers to the back of the floor section to a new platform that raised and spun around slowly, to a small platform that let her soar back to the main stage while letting the fans in the nosebleeds get a closer look.

It was over-the-top and her fans loved it, especially as she got closer and closer to them.

Swift opened with three songs from her new album, “Red”: “State of Grace,” with fireworks, “Holy Ground” with red flags and sparks flying, and “Red,” which came after an explanation of why the color red. It was everywhere from the staging to glittery red guitars to almost every outfit. “It’s the one color that represents the songs I’ve been writing about lately…” she explained. “The beautiful amazing, ‘Hello, nice to meet you. Let’s fall in love.’ … then the sad, tragic goodbye.”

Swift, took long pauses, teared up when she looked at the audience, gave her shocked look that anyone would come to see her. “You showed up looking kind of amazing,” she said. Then, she pointed out the girls with white lights in their skirts, or the ones painted head-to-toe red, or with lyrics on their arms or especially made T-shirts and signs. “Leave it to Austin, Texas, to bring the spirit,” she said.

She then acknowledged her reputation. “I write lots of songs about my feelings,” she said. “I have a feeling that 12,000 of you have opted in to hear songs about my feelings for the next two hours.”

Swift talked to the young girls in the audience before singing “Mean.” “I couldn’t wait to grow up,” she said. “I thought when you grow up no one picked on you. I thought you outgrew meanness. It’s not true… It’s really about how you choose to deal with it. I choose to deal with it by writing songs.”

Taylor Swift performs at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on May 21, 2013.

Midway through the show, Swift, at the back of the arena, slowed things down with a song dedicated to the tornado victims in Oklahoma. “Right next door in Oklahoma, they’re going through a lot to say the least,” she began. “I think they would appreciate 12,000 people praying for them.” She then began “Safe & Sound,” from “The Hunger Games” soundtrack.

Opening act, Sheeran, joined her on stage with their duet, “Everything has Changed.” Then, she sat on a red stool for the slow ballad about love rekindled, “Begin Again.”

Enough quiet. Time to hop onto a lighted platform for “Starlight” and slowly make her way back to the stage to finish the night out with “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “All Too Well,” when she rocked out on a red piano, “Love Story,” “Treacherous,” until finally ending with “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” sung by Swift and 12,000 fans.

As the crowd dispersed, vendors handed out Diet Coke, a Red Tour sponsor. Maybe they should have handed out earplugs before the show, because the sound of that many screaming girls, who will be exhausted Wednesday morning, left a ring in many an ear.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS May 22, 2013 - The most inspired moment of Taylor Swift's Wednesday night lovefest at the AT&T Center with 14,000 of her closest friends came from a Motown-ish soul reconstruction of the country-folk yearner, "You Belong With Me."

MEET THE SINS COUNTRY. HOTTEST NEWEST DUO MAKING NOISE IN NASHVILLE AND EVERYWHERE ELSE.
After pounding the pavement daily in Nashville, TN for years and garnering the attention of music critics and labels, The Sins Country has announced their signing with Mega Producer Kent Wells and his labor of love label, GTR records. Also Joining the team will be PLA media founded by Pam Lewis, former manager for superstar Garth Brooks as The Sins Country’s Public Relations Firm and PCL Music Promotions spearheaded by Lynne Connolly on record promotion. This husband and wife powerhouse showcase their unique songwriting and vocal talents, unlike any other duo on the scene today. THE SINS COUNTRY 'When We're Cheating On Each Other' VIDEO:

The Sins Country's hot single from 2012, 'Cheating On Each Other', peaked at #1 on the Roots Reports Pop Country Chart and stayed there for 8 straight weeks. Lucky Cowboy Sez: "I met this young country girl back in 2005 and went to her showcase. I knew then she would be a hit someday. Good Luck Kristen and Joe."

Joe Sins is the other half of the explosive duo and is from a small town in southern California called Twenty-Nine Palms, which is better known for Joshua trees and boulders, then country singers. Their brand new website is up and running at: THE SINS COUNTRY

NEW YORK TIMES CALLS NASHVILLE THE NATIONS "IT" CITY
Flush with young new residents and alive with immigrants, tourists and music, the city made its way to the top of all kinds of lists in 2012. GQ magazine declared it simply “Nowville.” But the music industry is the bedrock of Nashville’s economy. In the past two decades, country music has grown into a national darling. The city has attracted musicians and producers whose work moves beyond the twang and heartache. It is not uncommon to see the power couple Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman show up at a popular restaurant, Taylor Swift at Starbucks, Lucky Cowboy with his 40 gallon hat out and about or to pass Vince Gill on the street. The stars are everywhere in this town. Come on down y'all and we'll honky tonk the night away.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. May 11, 2013 - Forbes Magazine acknowledged Nashville's economic growth, ranking it 2nd in the nation, next only to San Francisco on its list of Best Big Cities for Jobs in 2013.

THE BIG PREDICTION:
By the year 2040, the Nashville region will have lured 1 Million new residents. Nashville itself will be more than 30 percent bigger than it is now, and Rutherford and Williamson counties will have 500,000 residents each — more than cities such as Kansas City or New Orleans have today. Lucky Sez: “I love the rhythm of this town and the pace of it and the tone of it,” “I think Nashville is a big unfinished song.”

AARON LEWIS SET TO MAKE OPRY DEBUT MAY 28, 2013
New single, “Granddaddy’s Gun,” set to launch

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 23, 2013) – Hit singer/songwriter Aaron Lewis will make his debut on the historic Grand Ole Opry Tuesday May 28, 2013 along with a star-studded lineup that includes Bill Anderson, Ricky Skaggs, Josh Turner, Dustin Lynch, Craig Campbell and Sam Palladio (from the ABC hit show “Nashville”) among others. The show starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets range from $35 to $57 and can be purchased at www.opry.com or by phone at 1-800-SEE-OPRY.

“Getting to play the Grand Ole Opry is such an incredible honor,” says Lewis. “It’s a dream come true to think that I’ll get to stand in that same iconic circle where music royalty has stood.”

Aaron’s new single “Granddaddy’s Gun,” from of his critically-acclaimed album The Road, ships to country radio next week. The powerful song focuses on the nostalgic experience of passing down a family heirloom. The song, written by Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Bobby Pinson is a perfect reflection of Lewis’ own childhood and deep country roots.

“‘Granddaddy’s Gun' is the only song on the album that I didn’t write,” Lewis notes. “In fact, it’s the only song I’ve ever recorded that I didn’t write. But the minute Rhett played it for me, it took me right back to my childhood. It’s my story. It’s a song I could have written.”

DARIUS RUCKER FIRES BACK AT RACIST TWEET

Grand Ole Opry member, Darius Rucker, was the target of a racist Tweet over the weekend.
Given his remarkable success in the genre, it's safe to say that most country fans enjoy Darius Rucker's music. However, the Grand Ole Opry member was the target of a racist tweet over the weekend that, understandably, set off his ire.

"@dariusrucker Leave country to the white folk," read the tweet, from a user identified as @pqkullman (the account has since been deactivated).

Understandably, Darius was upset and fired back with this response:

"WOW. Is this 2013 or 1913," adding "I'll take my Grand Ole Opry membership and leave your racism."

When fans asked him why he bothered to retweet the comment, he said, "So the world can see them."

TIM MCGRAW HELPS OUT A FAN WHO PASSED OUT DURING CONCERT

This past Sunday night when Tim McGraw was performing in Atlanta, he stopped his show about midway to come to the rescue of one of his fans. According to Paula Whitten, about halfway through Tim’s show she passed out in the pit from the heat. He apparently saw this happen and without hesitation he jumped down and tried to help her. Paula told Kicks 101.5 in Atlanta, “I remember waking up and there was Tim McGraw sittin’ next to me handing me water.” The whole ordeal lasted about three or four minutes, but all Tim was concerned about was making sure she was okay. Paula says, “He was talking to me and talking to the medics to try to get me up.” Once he knew she was in good hands he resumed his show.

EDDIE MONTGOMERY'S STEAKHOUSE CLOSES

May 7, 2013 - A restaurant co-owned by Montgomery Gentry singer Eddie Montgomery has abruptly closed without warning, leaving employees scrambling to find an explanation for their sudden termination.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse in Harrodsburg, Kentucky was open for business as usual on Saturday night (May 4). On Sunday, Tracy Nunan — Montgomery’s ex-wife and co-owner of the steakhouse — posted the following message on the restaurant’s Facebook page:

“I’m grateful for all the hard work you’ve done and will cherish all the memories made. I Pray that everyone finds a new path and your journey is successful. I thank you all for your dedication and apologize for the lack of notice and ask for your understanding, as this was not within my control.”

The log restaurant opened in 2009 and threw a huge grand opening celebration in 2010 that featured Montgomery’s brother, fellow country star John Michael Montgomery. In late 2010, Tracy Montgomery filed for divorce from Eddie Montgomery, reportedly serving him with papers as he dined at the steakhouse with their daughter. New management was brought in late last year.

Examiner.com reports that many employees responded angrily to Nunan’s Facebook post, saying they had no idea they were out of a job until they read it online. The restaurant’s Facebook page appears to have since been removed. Its official website makes no mention of the sudden closing.

TIM MCGRAW TO AWARD 31 HOMES TO VETS

NASHVILLE, TENN May 6, 2013 - Tim McGraw will continue his HomeFront program this summer by awarding mortgage-free homes to military veterans and their families. Last year, Tim teamed up with Chase and Operation Homefront to launch the program, which has already awarded over 30 newly renovated mortgage-free homes to deserving military families. This summer, they will award a home at each of Tim’s 31 Two Lanes of Freedom Tour stops.

“Launching our HomeFront program made last summer so much more special than I could have originally imagined,” Tim said. “I can honestly say that I got as much – or more – out of the experience than the veterans who received the new homes and assistance. These families made an incredible mark on me, and I’m more grateful than I’ve ever been for the sacrifices they make every day to serve our country. I’m just honored to be a part of this program, and I look forward to working with Chase and Operation Homefront to take it even further this summer.”

Tim’s continued partnership with Chase is part of a larger initiative to help raise awareness about the issues facing veterans and their families including employment, home ownership and education. Tim’s Two Lanes of Freedom Tour kicked off May 2 in Birmingham Alabama and will stop in 20 more cities through July.

PISTOL ANNIES AIM HIGHER WITH ALBUM NO. 2

Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe The Pistol Annies wrote “Annie Up” while they were on tour with Lambert last year. Many of the songs came together in their makeup chairs as they were getting ready for the night’s show.

PISTOL ANNIES "ANNIE UP" ALBUM RELEASES MAY 7

Track Listing for Annie Up:
1. I Feel A Sin Comin’ On (Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley)
2. Hush Hush (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
3. Being Pretty Ain’t Pretty (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
4. Unhappily Married (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
5. Loved By A Workin’ Man (Presley)
6. Blues, You’re A Buzz Kill (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
7. Don’t Talk About Him, Tina (Lambert/Presley)
8. Trading One Heartbreak For Another (Monroe/Presley)
9. Dear Sobriety (Lambert/Monroe)
10. Damn Thing (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
11. Girls Like Us (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)
12. I Hope You’re The End Of My Story (Lambert/Monroe/Presley)

Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley climb two flights of stairs in an old Nashville home they rented for the day, take their Mai Tais complete with frou-frou umbrellas, plop down on the couch and chair and start talking about boys.

And they have plenty to say.

Since the last Pistol Annies record, Lambert has triumphantly made it through her first year of marriage (and almost her second) to country singer Blake Shelton, Monroe got engaged to Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks, and Presley married the Annies’ former tour manager, Jordan Powell.

“I feel like it’s the most unnatural thing for two humans, especially of the opposite sex, to live in harmony under one roof,” says Monroe. “You realize how different men and women are.”

“But it’s awesome,” Lambert says.

“It is awesome,” Monroe agrees. “But I want a woman cave. I want a woman cave and he can have a man cave. We already do that. I’ll say, ‘Do you want to go play Xbox? I’m going to watch ‘Ellen’ for a while. Up (the stairs) you go.’ It works.”

“We have two separate farms,” retorts Lambert.

The women go on to commiserate over their loved ones’ joint inability to find the hamper with their dirty clothes.

“I told John, ‘OK, I have a system. This is your laundry hamper,’ ” Monroe says. “But all you have to do when you get home is put it in the basket. It looks like the rapture came. Or, he’ll put his jeans in there with the belt on and the wallet in there. It’s like, ‘Close, but no.’ ”

The women say even more about relationships on their new album, “Annie Up,” which arrives in stores Tuesday. Like its predecessor, “Annie Up” is filled with honest, edgy yet traditional country music — much of it about men.

“Unhappily Married,” “Workin’ Man,” “Trading One Heartbreak for Another,” and “I Hope You’re the End of My Story” explore different stages of relationships.

“This album is about right now,” Lambert says. “When we were doing the first record, what we had in common was our raising, what we loved, where we were from. Now, the thing we have most in common is our home lives or our relationships. We’re all living in it like normal women, so it’s destined to come out.”

It’s an album producer Frank Liddell wasn’t sure would ever get made. Lambert called Liddell with the idea of the first Pistol Annies album years ago, and he thought it was just a passing phase.

“I’m married (to country singer Lee Ann Womack), and I have a couple of daughters and they both sing, and I work with a handful of female artists and I thought, ‘There ain’t any way in hell this is going to happen,’ ” he recalls. “I thought this, I certainly didn’t say it, I thought, ‘If you want to do this record in six months, then call me,’ otherwise it will go away and we’ll move on to something new.”

Nearly six months to the day, he got the call from Lambert’s manager that she wanted to record the first Pistol Annies album. Liddell had a choice: Be there Feb. 12 or they’d have to hire someone else.

He describes that first album as having novelty and surprise and wondered how — or if — they would ever follow it up. When they reconvened in the studio for “Annie Up,” Liddell says he was amazed at how the women had individually grown. The result, he says, is undeniable.

“I think they’ve made a record the second go-around that establishes them as an artist and not just a collection of singers,” he says.

Gary Overton, chairman and CEO of Sony Music Nashville, which is Pistol Annies’ label group, agrees: “I love the new album ‘Annie Up’ as much as or even more than their debut album. They didn’t try to merely re-create the first album that sold over half a million copies. It’s all new songs and ideas with the same wicked perspective.”

BRAD PAISLEY, CARRIE UNDERWOOD SUED FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

NASHVILLE, TENN May 4, 2013 - A Dallas songwriter is suing Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, their record labels and publishing companies, and two Nashville songwriters for copyright infringement, claiming the parties ripped off a song she wrote after they heard her perform it around Nashville and at a songwriters workshop.

In a suit filed this week in U.S. District Court of Tennessee, Amy Bowen, who performs as Lizza Connor, says the song “Remind Me,” released by Paisley and Underwood in 2011, was copied from a song of the same name that Bowen wrote in 2007 and registered with the U.S. Copyright Office in December 2008.

“The two songs are substantially similar,” according to the suit, which is seeking at least $10 million in damages and requests that Bowen be declared the song’s owner.

According to the lawsuit, Bowen performed “Remind Me” around town for several years and in 2009 briefly attempted to pitch the song to labels, publishers and artists around Nashville under a single-song publishing deal that lasted 10 months.

She also performed it for songwriters John Kelley Lovelace and Charles Christopher DuBois during a songwriting workshop at Major Bob Music in Nashville in 2008, the suit says. Bowen claims Lovelace suggested during the seminar that the song be recorded as a duet.

"REMIND ME" RELEASE HAS SOLD OVER 1 MILLION COPIES

“Remind Me” was released on Paisley’s “This Is Country Music” album in May 2011. Lovelace and DuBois are listed as co-writers along with Paisley. The song has sold at least 1 million copies according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

COUNTRY LEGEND GEORGE JONES HAS DIED AT AGE 81 IN NASHVILLE
NASHVILLE, TN APRIL 26, 2012 -It's a black Friday! Country music legend George Jones has died Friday, according to Webster & Associates Public Relations & Marketing.

Jones was 81 hospitalized on April 18 with fever and irregular blood pressure.

Born September 12, 1931, Jones is regarded among the most important and influential singers in American popular music history. He was the singer of enduring country music hits including "She Thinks I Still Care," "The Grand Tour," "Walk Through This World With Me," "Tender Years" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today," the latter of which is often at the top of industry lists of the greatest country music singles of all time.

"A singer who can soar from a deep growl to dizzying heights, he is the undisputed successor of earlier natural geniuses such as Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell," wrote Bob Allen in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's "Encyclopedia of Country Music."

Jones was born in Saratoga, Texas, and he played on the streets of Beaumont for tips as a teenager. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps before returning to Texas and recording for the Starday label in Houston, Texas. In 1955, his "Why Baby Why" became his first Top 10 country single, peaking at number four and beginning a remarkable commercial string: Jones would ultimately record more than 160 charting singles, more than any other artist in any format in the history of popular music.

Jones' first number one hit came in 1959 with "White Lightning," a Mercury Records single that topped Billboard country charts for five weeks. He moved on to United Artists and then to Musicor, notching hits including "She Thinks I Still Care," "The Race Is On," "A Good Year for the Roses" and "Walk Through This World With Me."

Jones signed with Epic Records in 1971 and worked with producer Billy Sherrill to craft a sound at once elegant and rooted, scoring with "The Grand Tour," "Bartenders Blues" and many more. Sherrill also produced duets between Jones and his then-wife Tammy Wynette, and in the 1970s they scored top-charting hits including "We're Gonna Hold On," "Golden Ring" and "Near You."

By the time "Golden Ring" and "Near You" hit in 1976, Jones and Wynette were divorced, and Jones was battling personal demons. His solo career cooled until 1980, when he recorded "He Stopped Loving Her Today," a ballad penned by Curly Putman and Bobby Braddock that helped Jones win Country Music Association prizes for best male vocal and top single. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" revived a flagging career, and Jones won the CMA's top male vocalist award in 1980 and 1981. He also earned a Grammy for best male country vocal performance.

In 1983, Jones married the former Nancy Ford Sepulvado. The union, he repeatedly said, began his rehabilitation from drugs and alcohol and prolonged his life. He signed with MCA Records in 1990 and began a successful run, and he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992. His guest vocal on Patty Loveless' "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" won a CMA award for top vocal event in 1998, and it became his final Top 20 country hit.

In 1999, Jones nearly died in a car wreck, but he recovered and resumed touring and recording. He remained a force in music until his death, playing hundreds of shows in the new century and collecting the nation's highest arts award, the Kennedy Center Honor for lifetime achievement, in 2008. In late 2012, Jones announced his farewell tour, which was to conclude with a sold-out, star-packed show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 22, 2013. Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Rogers, Sam Moore, The Oak Ridge Boys and many others were set to perform at Jones' Bridgestone show.

Jones is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Nancy Jones, his sister Helen Scroggins, and by his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

May you rest in peace "Possum" we'll miss your great music. “Walk Through This World with Me” _George Jones

BILLY CURRINGTON FREE ON BOND FOLLOWING INDICTMENTS IN GEORGIA

NASHVILLE, TENN April 26, 2013 - Billy Currington was released on bond Thursday (April 25) after turning himself in to law officers in Savannah, Ga., following the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest on charges of making terroristic threats and abuse of an elderly person.

A grand jury in Chatham County indicted him Wednesday on the two felony counts stemming from an April 15 incident involving alleged threats against 70-year-old tour boat captain Harvey Ferrelle.

The two became involved in a verbal altercation after the 39-year-old singer complained that Ferrelle's boat had traveled too close to Currington's house in a gated community on Tybee Island. Ferrelle told police the singer later chased them in his own boat.
Currington, a native of nearby Effington County, turned himself in to sheriff's deputies late Thursday afternoon and was released a short time later after posting a $27,700 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court during an arraignment hearing on May 28.

JOHNNY CASH MUSEUM PLANS MAY GRAND OPENING IN NASHVILLE

The Johnny Cash Museum opens soon and is located at 119 Third Ave. in downtown Nashville, Tenn.

NASHVILLE, TENN April 26, 2013 - Thursday morning, Joanne Cash Yates and Tommy Cash walked into The Johnny Cash Museum, a soon-to-open downtown space devoted to their late brother. First, they smiled at an old Martin guitar with a folded dollar bill stuck through the strings: In the 1950s, before he had a drummer, Johnny Cash used a dollar bill to create a percussive effect when he strummed the instrument.

Then, they looked left and saw a display filled with family photos and artifacts, from the Cashes’ hardscrabble 1940s days in Dyess, Ark. There was a radio like the one the family used to listen to the “Grand Ole Opry.” There was Johnny’s Future Farmers of America card, and a school yearbook page. And then it was hard to see through the tears.

“I want to ask them what they think, but they won’t stop crying,” said Museum owner Bill Miller, whose extraordinary collection of Johnny and June Carter Cash memorabilia will be on public display in a matter of weeks, at 119 Third Ave. S. Johnny and June died months apart in 2003 in Nashville.

Daughter Cathy Cash-Tittle was emotional upon seeing her parents’ marriage certificate for the first time. Others in the family gasped to see a stone wall that was part of Johnny and June’s Hendersonville home before it burned. There were tin cups from Folsom Prison, where Cash recorded a classic album. There were stage outfits, awards, gold and platinum albums, and a remarkable collection of instruments from Cash, The Carter Family and supporting musicians Luther Perkins, Marshall Grant and W.S. “Fluke” Holland.

“It’s just unbelievable,” said Tommy Cash, who followed his brother into the music industry and recorded hits including “Six White Horses.” “I’m amazed at what’s here. People from all over the world will come and see this.”

That’s what Miller, who said the Museum will officially open in May, is hoping. A close friend of Country Music Hall of Famer Johnny Cash, the California-based Miller amassed his collection over four decades.

BOBBY BARE, "COWBOY" JACK CLEMENT, AND KENNY ROGERS
TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME

NASHVILLE, TENN April 10, 2013 - The Country Music Association announced today that Bobby Bare, “Cowboy” Jack Clement, and Kenny Rogers will become the newest members of the revered Country Music Hall of Fame.

Rogers will be inducted in the “Modern Era Artist” category, while Bare will be inducted in the “Veterans Era Artist” category. Clement will be inducted in the “Non-Performer” category, which is awarded every third year in a rotation with the “Recording and/or Touring Musician Active Prior to 1980," and “Songwriter” categories. Bare, Clement, and Rogers will increase membership in the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame from 118 to 121 members.

“The highest musical honor achievable for a Country Music artist or industry leader is to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and these are all outstanding and highly deserving individuals,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “'Cowboy’ has been responsible for producing many of the iconic songs in Country Music. Bobby pioneered the Country concept album and was one of the first artists to take the format to Europe. And Kenny’s crossover success throughout a lengthy career introduced Country Music to a much wider audience.”

Induction ceremonies for Bare, Clement, and Rogers will take place at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in the new CMA Theater later this year. Since 2007, the Museum’s Medallion Ceremony, an annual reunion of the Hall of Fame membership, has served as the official rite of induction for new members.

RICK MONROE TO SUPPORT & EMCEE THE 2013 JÄGERMEISTER COUNTRY TOUR
WITH HEADLINER AARON LEWIS

www.facebook.com/rickmonroe & twitter: @rickmonroe

Nashville, TENN April 10, 2013 — Rick Monroe will support headliner Aaron Lewis on the 2013 Jägermeister Country Tour. Monroe’s new single and video release for his new track, “Just the Same” will coincide with the Tour which kicks-off May 1.

Monroe said, “It’s true that Jagermeister is a brand as deeply rooted in music as it is in mythology and lore. I’m proud to take part in this my fifth Jagermeister Tour, this time with Aaron Lewis.”

The soon to be released track, 'Just the Same' (http://www.mrgrecordings.com/MRG/Rick_Monroe.html) is the follow-up to Monroe’s “Crazy Not To” single which was released in the summer of 2012 and reached top-40 radio and chart status across the country. Now, in the spring of 2013, Monroe looks to continue that momentum, releasing the emotionally charged and heartfelt single, Just the Same, with a uniquely romantic and stylized video music clip/postcard to accompany the music, lensed by director Mike Stryker.

Monroe's music and music videos have been heard and seen on CMT, GAC and TNN here in the US and on international outlets, as well. He's been profiled on network shows including Access Hollywood, ET, ABC’s “On the Red Carpet and Extra, in addition to his numerous performances on national and local talk and morning shows. Rick’s headlined his own tours and has opened for the likes of Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Josh Thompson Pat Green, Charlie Daniels, Dwight Yoakam and Montgomery Gentry. He's toured Europe consistently and performed an average of 70 dates a year for the last two years.

As has been the case for the past several years, Monroe will be on the road touring once again. Commenting on last year’s 2012 Jagermeister Country tour with Randy Houser, Rick Monroe said, "I was absolutely thrilled to be on the road doing what I love to do best. We were out there in support of my new single "Crazy Not To" so it was great fun performing that tune in front of packed houses and shaking hands with as many country music fans as possible.” In 2011, Rick's single, "Get UR Country On" spawned the "Jagermeister Presents" Club tour of the same name.

Produced by David Norris (www.norrisong.com), of the new Just the Same track, Monroe noted, “When we wrote Just The Same I thought it was more for pitching to another artist. But it was no surprise to me when we selected it to be a single and how naturally it came to together.” Regarding the music video clip, Rick added, “We couldn't have gotten any luckier with getting Mike Stryker to direct the video he "got it" right away and like the recording everything fell into place with ease. From getting the couples, locations, props and support we were definitely blessed and under favor.”

No stranger to success, Rick's previous album "Get Loud Get Lit" launched the hit single Honky Tonk Road Trip which spawned a television reality series pilot of the same name which is currently in development. His 'Against the Grain' album featured the hit single and video 'Midnight Rider'. Having received rave reviews in print and numerous accolades on television shows such as EXTRA and ET, Rick's gritty Midnight Rider music video is still a fan favorite.

Aaron Lewis made his journey to the country scene in 2011 with the release of his debut EP, Town Line, and the success of the gold-selling single “Country Boy,” featuring the legendary George Jones and Charlie Daniels. The seven-song EP reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) or directly through the venue website. The 2013 Jägermeister Country Tour will feature Jägermeister custom tour prizes from Schecter Guitars and Vypyr Amps by Peavey. For more information on Jägermeister, visit www.facebook.com/jagerusa.
